October 6 – 31: Pumpkin Patch 


Cavanaugh First Freewill Baptist Church, 2825 Grinnell Avenue in Fort Smith., will hold their annual Pumpkin Patch, October 6 – 31! Monday – Saturday 8 am – 7 pm and Sundays, noon – 6 pm. October 17: Food for Thought: Holiday Food Fun

The Fort Smith Public Library, 3201 Rogers Avenue, will hold Food for Thought: Holiday Food Fun! on Friday, October 17, at 12 Noon. Join Kelli Cole as she shares recipes for fun and festive Holiday food! Bring your lunch or pick up something at Dewey’s Café. October 17 – 18: Annual Lawn Social 

St. Boniface Catholic School, 201 North 19th Street in Fort Smith., will host its 127th Annual Lawn Social, Oct 17th & 18th, on Hillary Field. This year’s event will include food, music, games, a photo booth, paintball, silent auction and more! Both nights will be 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm. For more information call 783-6601. 

October 17 – 18: Poteau Balloon Fest  

The 2014 Poteau Balloon Fest will be held October 17th & 18th at the LeFlore County Fair Grounds on Highway 271 South. Advance Armbands are $3, $5 at the gate(children 4 and under free.) This event will feature carnival rides, helicopter rides, a 5K race, food vendors and hot air balloons -with tethered rides available weather permitting! Free parking and shuttle buses available at CASC and the Industrial Park. Parking at fair grounds will be $5. For more information or to volunteer, contact the Chamber of Commerce at 918-647-9178. (Friday, the 17th, gates will open at Noon -11:00 pm. Saturday, the 18th, they will open at 9:00 am -11:00pm)

If you have ever wondered about fostering or adopting, then come out to The CALL information meeting, Monday, October 20th from 6:00pm – 8:30pm, at Cavanaugh Freewill Baptist Church, 2825 Grinnell Avenue. in Fort Smith. October 24-25:  Women’s Conference

Miracle Power Tabernacle, 1106 North 34th Street in Fort Smith will host their 2nd annual women’s conference October 24th-25th.  Speakers include Millie Miller from Hobbs, New Mexico, Susan Means from Fort Smith and Melissa Turman-Griffin from Searcy, Arkansas.  Service times are Friday 7 pm, Saturday 10 am and 2 pm.  Lunch will be provided.  For more information or to register for the conference, please call Diane at (479) 739-1817,  This is a free conference.

October 25:  October Fest

Tyro Community Church invites you to their October Fest, Saturday, October 25.  Free Hotdogs, Old Fashion Smores, and a lot more fun.  Tyro Community Church is located on West Hwy 252, 2 miles off Hwy 45 between Hackett and Midland.  For more information Call 479-639-2500.

Thru October 30: “Best Pecans at a Fair Price” Nut Fundraiser 

The Crawford County Conservation District, 701 Fayetteville Road. in Van Buren, is hosting their annual fundraiser, “The Best Pecans at a Fair Price”. The funds will go towards an education scholarship, conservation workshops & programs. They are taking orders until October 30th. Contact the CCCD office for a 2014 Price Sheet/Order Form. Nuts will be available for customer pick-up at the CCCD office before Thanksgiving. For more information call 474-2281.

November 8-9:  Concert

Song writer and Gospel comedian Peter Whitebird will be in concert November 8th 7 pm & November 9th 10 am at Tyro Community Church located on West Highway 252, between Hackett and Midland AR. For more information call 470-639-2500.  Pastor Scott and congregation invite all to attend.
